The Great Odyssey

It's on! We’re past the ‘point of no return.’ On May 4th, my sabbatical continues as I depart on The Great Odyssey. For the next several months, I’ll be roaming North Africa and Europe, living life at liberty and experiencing everything the Old World can throw at me. At least 107 days and a dozen countries or more.

My trip will take me from Marrakech to Inverness and Porto to Positano. I’ll visit the ancestral MacPherson lands in the Scottish highlands; trek into the Moroccan Sahara on camel and sleep under the stars with Berber nomads; learn how to cook regional specialties in places like Fes, Budapest, Florence and Bologna; cross the ancient path of Odysseus and the Sirens in Capri; follow in the footsteps of Hemingway in Pamplona (and hopefully emerge unscathed!); and maybe even watch Tiger cross the Swilcan bridge on his way to an Open Championship at St. Andrews. Or Phil. That would be okay too.

Assuming I'm not having too much fun to find the time, I'll share some of my adventures on this blog. Tune in, and join me on this epic journey. It starts here:
